Why the Hideaway?
Our Story
We were both born in Fort Worth and share a love for the city’s history and the old Fort Worth establishments. Over the years we felt that some of that history and original “joints” started fading away as the city grew. We searched to find a historically significant property to create a comfortable place that becomes a part of the Fort Worth fabric. Our renovated 1920’s bungalow, shaded beer garden and large covered porch is the perfect place to “hideaway” in Fort Worth.
And the cool part is, the place has some character. We converted the original carriage house which was built in 1901 into a bar. This bar will serve the beer garden nestled beneath mature live oaks brought in from the nearby Walsh Ranch and 150-year-old cottonwood trees. The original shiplap lines the walls of the bungalow where you can belly up to a beautiful bar for a cocktail or grab a nice bottle of wine. The original water tower is an iconic landmark that serves as a perfect backdrop and beckons you to order another round.
Crystal Springs Hideaway pays homage to the area’s history, with a nod to the Crystal Springs Dance Pavilion which was the birthplace of western swing music. Musical greats like Bob Wills and Milton Brown played to enthusiastic dancing crowds in the early 1920’s. This is a cool part of Fort Worth history that we want to celebrate by serving the neighborhood in story and with drinks.
So, come one, come all! Sit in the beer garden with your pup, share a bottle of wine from the wine shoppe, pull up a seat for a burger or come by for a nightcap. This is your neighborhood “hideaway”!

Thanks for stopping by!
